The Johnnie Walker flagship whisky attraction in Edinburgh has been named the World’s Main Spirit Expertise in a number one business awards.
Johnnie Walker Princes Road took the award on the World Journey Awards (WTA), dubbed the “tourism Oscars”.
The eight-storey landmark, which opened in September 2021, was created because the centrepiece of Diageo’s £185million funding in Scotch whisky experiences.
Designed to place Scotch and Scotland “on the pinnacle of world foods and drinks tourism”, it has established itself as a number one customer attraction, welcoming over 700,000 guests from 131 international locations.
Rob Maxwell, Head of Johnnie Walker Princes Road, mentioned yesterday [SAT]: “Everybody related to Johnnie Walker Princes Road is enormously happy with this award.
“Once we got down to create Johnnie Walker Princes Road, we had the ambition of placing Scotland on the forefront of world foods and drinks tourism, and this award is recognition that now we have made nice strides in direction of that ambition.”

“Analysis continues to point out guests love to attach with the folks and locations related to our iconic foods and drinks. Whisky has large worldwide attraction, and this award confirms the necessary function it performs within the Scottish tourism expertise.”
The 71,500 sq ft attraction explores the 200-year historical past of Johnnie Walker with varied experiences throughout its eight flooring, from guided tastings and excursions to a retail space full with a “fill your individual” station.
